Taking advantage of a walk on Sunday in Milan I went for the first time in the garden of Villa Necchi (via Mozart 14, Milano). As a devouring pocket daily, weekly, bi-monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, annually etc.. providing useful information to live joyfully in Milan, the province, region, country, other countries, other worlds and so on. I decided to look around a bit 'in the clothes of Bettina Sichel Gabetti exposed at Villa Necchi at' B for FAI. Journey in the closets of Bettina "(4-6 February 2011).
Bettina was named the "Hall of Fame" one of the most elegant women of the world and the show has sold more than a thousand pieces of her wardrobe, including clothes and accessories, donated to the FAI by his family after his death in 2008. The proceeds of the sale (which apparently has been doing well to see through the holes of the last exhibition day) will go to the FAI in favor of activities to protect the heritage and landscape.
Admission cost 5 € and I was able to visit the villa's garden (unfortunately there were no more seats for guided tours inside the building) and the collection on display in the basement.
In reaching my destination was very pleasant to walk around seeing only via Palestro cyclists and skaters in the street ... I wonder why I live in Milan this way should only be a prerogative of the emergency smog!
through the gate, I paused to appreciate the gardens of the Villa: how beautiful! and lush! It was like being on the farm:)
After purchasing the ticket and giving a quick look at the library (where I also saw the exhibition of magnificent jewels Laura Volpi ), I entered the live event: THAT SMELL WONDERFUL ! What is it? I did not realize until the end of the tour when, and peg away as curious Alice following the white rabbit in the woods, I smelled all the plants in the garden and I made the acquaintance of Sarcococca Confused, a compact bush with shiny leaves and slender offering a fragrant winter flowering. What a beautiful smell the flowers and the smell of smog in the city center!
Then a few minutes by the pool ... a walk to the tennis courts ... a visit to the exhibition of clothes: the setting was very nice, made with bamboo, cardboard furniture and jazz music in the background. Finally a coffee in a bar glass.
short, pleasant afternoon in a jewel in Milan! As always, this city, when the other shows itself in intimate, surprising and relaxed. As I always say: Milan is double!
